Ok, the current version of the poem takes an odd turn of events.
Totally off the highway and into the forrest, people…literally.
I’m excited about where this is going. I’m definitely writing this poem for the fun and without any competition in mind.

It was a busy day today, so I didn’t make any changes.
I went to a monthly poetry meetup called “Creative Voices” here in the DC area, so I decided to read the current raw poem and ask for their input.

It’s 32 degrees out and the earth
Is frozen beneath my feet and
This weight on my shoulders [...]

It’s day two of the Slam Idol Open Writing Challenge and I now have a general idea of the overall theme / storyline of my poem!

I got away from work in the wee morning hours and decided to audioblog about exercising my “poetic muscles”, as Thom Ingram says, in preparation for the Open Writing Challenge at Slam Idol.
