Well, we’ve made it to submission day! Today, Sep 9th, is the deadline that Simon of the Slam Idol Podcast and I agreed upon. He’s submitted a poem to me and I have submitted one to him. You will hear Simon’s poem on tomorrow’s “Second Sunday” show and my poem on an upcoming Slam Idol [...]
I didn’t change much on the poem, so I think this version will be close to the final. Although, it is still wide open until I do the actual recording. I may decide that a line doesn’t read right when recited.

I’ve decided to take a day away from the poem. A poet I interviewed recommended that once. This is done to clear your head of the poem, so that you can come back with “fresh eyes”.
In the meantime, I’ll be thinking about and researching supporting sounds (wind, rain, lighting, etc) to enhance this audio drama poem. Maybe [...]
I’m getting pretty close to finishing the story with this version. I may add another stanza or so to the end, but we’ll see how it goes tomorrow after I sleep on it.

The story is definitely getting darker and the tension is building.
I’m pretty sure the story will end badly, but there’s not much that I can do about that, since it seems to be writing itself. I’m just the narrator.
